Company History And Employees

MetSkill was founded by Rebecca Sands in 2005. Rebecca has over 30 years’ experience in the mineral processing industry, including extensive experience in the design and implementation of training programmes, design and implementation of Advanced Process Control Systems, and Plant Production Management. Qualified as an Extractive Metallurgist, she has worked on gold, base metal, platinum plants, and collieries. Rebecca ran Gold Fields metallurgical training services in the late ’90s.

Rebecca sits on the Community of Expert Practitioners for the development of Occupational Qualifications with the Mining Qualifications Authority with the QCTO (Quality Council for Trades and Occupations) and is actively involved with the development of Process Controller Occupational Qualifications NQF Levels 1 – 4. She is also a qualified Foundational Learning Facilitator in both Communications and Mathematical Literacy.
Rebecca graduated from the prestigious Goldman Sachs-GIBS 10,000 Women Certificate programme for Entrepreneurs – one of the 10 000 women chosen worldwide.

Rebecca’s business partner and MetSkill’s Chief Operating Officer, Masego Modise graduated with a BTech Extraction Metallurgy from the University of Johannesburg and has been exposed to many aspects of the mineral processing industry through her training with MetSkill. Masego achieved several academic accolades during her studies. She has completed her leadership training through the Partners for Possibilities Programme and is actively involved in developing sustainable fundraising programmes for a school in Katlehong.
Masego is responsible for managing our Metallurgical Skills Training, as well as developing courses, facilitating and conducting skills assessments.

 

Fred-Dipale

Fred Dipale has worked in the industry for 12 years and is a qualified Assessor, Moderator and has been trained to audit the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard.  Fred joined the MetSkill team in 2014 as an Assessor.

Fred has a passion for skills development and strives to make every training experience special for his learners.

 

Sam Mthimkulu has many years of Metallurgical experience and joined MetSkill as an Assessor and Facilitator in 2017.
He is qualified as an ETD practitioner and is a MQA registered assessor and moderator. Sam has worked on all commodities and has strong concentrator plant skills. His commanding presence and approachable manner in the classroom have made him a firm favourite with our learners.
Peter Mogale is qualified to facilitate and assess our Mineral Processing qualifications L2 – L4 as well as Metals Production through the same levels. He is a dedicated, passionate professional who goes the extra mile to make sure that the job is done. He is an MQA accredited Assessor and Moderator. Peter joined our team in 2017 and has brought a special touch to coaching our learners.

 

Lindiwe-Zondo

Lindiwe Zondo joined MetSkill in February 2014 as Skills Development Administrator. She is responsible for Skills Development administration, Customer Relationship Management and the facilitation of the company’s day-to-day smooth operation. Lindiwe is currently studying for a diploma in Business Management.

 

 

MetSkill also makes use of a number of subject matter experts for running courses, performing assessments and external moderations, and have formed a number of strategic alliances with respected members of the Mineral Processing industry to provide a “one-stop process training shop”.
